We all know that WhatsApp is the best instant messaging app in the world. Right now WhatsApp is being used by over 400 million users. Well, WhatsApp lets users exchange unlimited messages, videos, audios and images to everyone on their WhatsApp’s contact list.

Previously we saw the instant messaging app WhatsApp rolls out an renewed “Status” functionality. This feature lets users set photos and videos as the status update just like Instagram stories.

However, with the arrival of new functionality, the old text-based status update feature goes missing. Users across the world have started to give thumbs down to the new update because most of the users find it complicated and irritating.

However, the good news is that the instant messaging app WhatsApp brings back the text status feature to all Android users. Well, the feature is now called “About and phone number” which users can access by going to their profile tab into settings.

Well, the feature is only available to Android users. But in the coming weeks, it will be rolled out to iOS users. Well, users just need to update their WhatsApp app from Google Play store to enjoy the feature.

The Snapchat-style WhatsApp Status feature that lets users upload photos and videos that disappear in 24 hours is still in the app. So, update your existing app to enjoy the old text-based status feature on your WhatsApp app.

Motorola showcased Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017, Barcelona. And today finally, the company has launched the Moto G5 Plus in India at an event in New Delhi. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a pretty competitive set of specifications. It is the successor to the Moto G4 Plus and it has been upgraded in terms of many things.

Now Moto G5 Plus comes in a metal unibody design and it also lets you enjoy Android 7.0 Nougat along with Google Assistant out of the box. Additionally, it comes bundled with a turbo charger which charges the device pretty fast. It will be offered in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold color options.



Moto G5 Plus Specifications

The Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2 inch full-HD (1080p) LCD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 2.0GHz and paired with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in 3 GB and 4GB RAM options with 16GB or 32GB internal storage, along with micro-SD card support.

On the camera front, it has got a 12 MP Dual autofocus camera on the back with dual tone LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, you get a 5 MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat along with Google Assistant out of the box. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the front which also doubles as home button.

Moto G5 Plus packs a 3000 mAh battery along with a Turbo charger. It is pretty sleek at 7.7 mm of thickness and weighs 155 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a microUSB port. Sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

Xiaomi launches ‘special’ pre-order service in India

Xiaomi has announced a new service for its Mi Fans in India. The Chinese tech company has launched a pre-ordering facility for offline markets in the northern region, as well as for large format retailers (LFRs) across the southern region.

The company will be keeping its Redmi Note 4 smartphone as the first to be available via pre-orders between March 14-17 March across LFRs, and from March 16-21 across offline stores in Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh.

The smartphone will be going on sale starting March 18 across retailers, and March 22 in Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh. Some of the retailers include Sangeetha, Poorvika, Lot Mobile and BigC. It is priced at Rs 11,499 onward.

Xiaomi says that it will make all its products available for offline pre-orders in future.

"We spent 2016 building strong operations in our offline distribution and paving the way to bring innovation in our offline model. We started this with our direct-to-retail model and with the introduction of pre-orders, we are extending our innovation to everyone," said Vipin Raina, head of offline sales, Xiaomi India.

Redmi Note 4 sports a metallic unibody with round edges. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display offering wide-viewing angle viewing. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.

The Redmi Note 4 comes in three variants -- 2GB RAM/32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, topped with the company's own MIUI 8 skin layer.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is backed by a 4,100mAh battery and comes with an IR blaster. On the camera front, the Note 4 has a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5MP front-facing snapper. The dual-sim smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass and micro-USB as connectivity options.

Nubia India, a subsidiary of ZTE, has announced on its Twitter handle that a most awaited smartphone sequel will be launching in India soon. Though it didn’t explicitly mention the name of the phone, it is quite evident that the smaller variant of the ZTE Nubia Z11 called Nubia Z11 miniS is on the cards.

Nubia Z11 miniS Specifications

The ZTE Nubia Z11 miniS comes with a5.2-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a 2.5D curved display. A Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 ( Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) along with Adreno 506 GPU powers this device. It packs 4GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card upto 256GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with nubia UI 4.0 on the top.

In the camera department, the ZTE Nubia Z11 miniS houses a 23MP f/2.0 (Sony IMX318 sensor, 1/2.6″ sensor size, 1 µm pixel size) camera that is assisted by phase detection autofocus and LED flash. On the front, it sports a 13MP f/2.2 (Sony IMX258 sensor) camera. A non-removable 3000 mAh battery fuels this device.

Sensors onboard are Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. Connectivity options on the device include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, FM Radio, USB Type-C, etc.

At this price, it has to face the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Huawei Honor 6X and the newly launched Moto G5 Plus. If ZTE can contrive a good camera in this phone, it will be a good alternative to current market leader Xioami Redmi Note 4. 13MP Camera
